Winter Maintenance Guide for Your RoboUP Robot Mower

As winter approaches, many questions arise as to when and how to store robot mowers for the off-season. With a few simple steps, you can ensure your RoboUP mower stays in top condition and is ready to hit the ground running when the next mowing season arrives. Follow these guidelines to keep your mower protected and well-maintained throughout the winter.

1. Preparing for Winter Storage


1.1 Turn Off Scheduled Mowing

Open the RoboUP App and disable any scheduled mowing tasks to prevent accidental operation.

1.2 Charge the Battery

Ensure RoboUP's battery is charged to 50%-70%. This range helps maintain battery health over the winter.

1.3 Power Off
Once the above steps are completed, power off your RoboUP robot mower to conserve battery life.


2. Removing and Storing the Charging Station


2.1 Disconnect Power
Unplug the Charging Station from the main AC power socket, then disconnect the extension cable from both the DC outlet and the Charging Station.

2.2 Remove the Charging Station
Loosen and remove the screws holding the Charging Station in place. Carefully lift it out of position.

2.3 Store Safely
Place the Charging Station in a safe, dry location for the winter. When spring arrives, reinstall it and make sure all connections are secure.


3. RTK Base Station Maintenance


3.1 Disconnect the RTK Base Station
If the RTK Base Station is installed outdoors on a wall, roof, or eave, carefully remove it for winter storage.


3.2 Unscrew & Disconnect
Unscrew the base from its mount, then disconnect any cables to prevent damage from cold or wet weather.

3.3 Store Properly
Keep the RTK Base Station in a safe, dry location until the next mowing season.


4. Maintaining Your RoboUP Mower: Cleaning the Exterior


4.1 Level Surface & Power Off
Place RoboUP on a level surface, then power off to prevent any accidental operation while cleaning.


4.2 Wipe Down the Exterior
Using a damp cloth, gently wipe the exterior to remove dirt and debris. If it is extremely dirty, you can choose to wash your robot mower. 

Note: To avoid water intrusion, do not use a pressure washer gun to clean the lawn mower.

4.3 Dry Thoroughly
Ensure RoboUP is completely dry before storing it to avoid moisture damage.


5. Maintaining Your RoboUP Mower: Cleaning the Underside


5.1 Prepare Tools
Use a small screwdriver, cleaning brush, and damp cloth.


5.2 Access the Cutting Disc
Carefully remove the screws holding the cutting disc in place.

5.3 Clean the Underside
Gently clean the underside of the mower, making sure to remove any grass clippings or debris.

5.4 Reassemble
Once the underside is clean, reassemble the cutting disc and other parts securely.

6. Cleaning the Charging Station


6.1 Use a Brush and Towel
Use a soft brush to remove any dirt and a damp towel to wipe down the charging contacts.

6.2 Check the Bottom
Check the bottom of the charging station for any dirt buildup and clean it off.

7. Winter Storage


7.1 Pack Carefully
Carefully pack RoboUP and the charging station in a dry, temperature-controlled location for the winter.

7.2 Store in a Suitable Environment
Store the mower in a cool, dry place away from moisture or extreme temperatures to prevent damage.
